もののけ姫 (Princess Mononoke)
ALRIGHT GUYS.
So, I just finished watching Princess Mononoke for the trillionth time (but this time with my sister) and as always, it left me to die in feels.
As many of you know (atleast, you will now) I am a huge Studio Ghibli fan. Ever since I watched Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し) as a little kid with my two sisters, I've been hooked. Spirited Away will forever remain in my top 3, if not my top 1 film of all time. Not only because it's a great film, but also because it unleashed the world of Studio Ghibli for me. It took me some time to find out about more Studio Ghibli films, such as My Neighbour Totoro (となりのトトロ), Grave of the Fireflies (火垂るの墓), Princess Mononoke (もののけ姫), Howl's Moving Castle (ハウルの動く城) and so on. More about them on another entry.
This one is completely dedicated to Princess Mononoke. As some of you may have noticed, there's a picture of her and one of the wolfs on my header. The reason why I love this one so much is probably because it lifts up such a heavy and important issue in the world. How humans are careless of nature and don't think of the animals and flora. And how easily we can get greedy. It just gives you a good perspective on life and how it should be. How we should not be enemies of the wild, but live together and respect our nature, not destroy it. Hayao Miyazaki is such a great director and animator. The scenes are outstanding and I will forever respect him for his hard work. He always make such masterpieces. I can't only thank Miyazaki, but all the people in his team as well. And not to forget, Joe Hisaishi. He always composes such lovely music to these films. There is not one film where he has not created beautiful music. Each and one of these pieces are so fitted for the themes of the films. I can listen to his wonderful music for ages.
"The story follows the young Emishi warrior Ashitaka's involvement in the struggle between the supernatural guardians of a forest and the humans who consume its resources."

And lastly, I leave you guys with my favourite soundtrack from the film. Just listening to this song will make you want to watch the film.
